This is a very nice way to mount the Thor's Lightning compressor system out of the way in a Jeep JL. Installation takes some time and brainpower to do a clean job but worth the effort once complete. There were some obstacles with a the way a few things were engineered but I was able to overcome them and get everything done.
Have only used it twice so far but I’m in love with it.
I received the compressor quickly and tried it immediately. Quickly topped off 265/60 R20 tires at 70psi. The following day, I inflated six 295/75 R22.5 tires from 80 to 110 psi without issue. Yes, it was a cool day at sea level, but pretty impressive for a compressor without a tank at this price point.
More mind blowing than the compressor in 2024, is the company’s customer support. Included in the packaging was a letter stating that the compressor I ordered was unavailable, so instead of excuses or waitlisting, they upgraded my order. I can’t guarantee this for all customers, but Thor’s Lightning went above and beyond. Thank you for exceeding expectations!
I ordered the Total Control Compressor and the 4-Tire hose system. After researching Thor's Lightning and several of their competitors, and there are a lot of them, I finally settled on Thor's Lightning. Most of the systems I checked out are all essentially the same. They use what appears to be the same pump and the 4-tire air systems are the same size and configuration.
The big difference for me is that Thor's Lightning has a phone number that can actually be called and a human answers it. They were very responsive and the guy I talked to was very friendly and was happy to ship my order the day I called. The others all use text and email to contact them and they are slow to respond.
When I received my order from Thor's Lightning it was missing the manifold that goes with the hose system. I called again, and again received a very kind, energetic response. They were very apologetic and shipped the manifold right out.
I used the system for the first time on an off-roading trip and it performed flawlessly. It inflated all four tires simultaneously from 20 PSI to 40 PSI in just a few minutes.
I strongly recommend Thor's Lightning to anyone in the market for an air-down/air-up system!
