I have used several systems to inflate my tires. I have used one valve, two valve, and four valve hose systems. I have used ARB, VA, and other Air compressors. None of them match the quality or performance of the Thor’s Lightning system. Highly recommend.
I got the rapid 4-tire portable adventure air system and complemented it with the total control 12v true dual air compressor. Needed some assistance with shipping and both times I called, customer service was phenomenal and returned my call same day. Products do as what they’re meant to do and do it well. What a time- saver! Quality meets great service! Can’t say enough good things about this company!
I bought this system not really knowing if I would enjoy it or find it a hassle. I quickly found out it is no hassle at all and is awesome. Takes no time at all to pull out and hook up, less than 2 minutes. Then it will air my 37s down from 28 to 13 in a few minutes. I can hook up and air down in less than 5 minutes. Then air back up in less than 7. I thought I may use it when away from any air stations but now having it and a Thor's compressor in my rig I haven't used anything but this. I don't see why I would ever use an off road park air station ever again. My last trip I was able to take care of all four of my tires plus two of my buddies in less time than it took him to individually handle his other two, both going up and down. The build quality on this system made me want to buy more and I quickly ordered their compressor, wiring kit, and the TotalControl manifold. I haven't received the manifold yet but everything so far has been incredible. Having this as on board air has become one of my most loved mods. I'm extremely glad I did it.
I ordered them as a just in case item. I have some Smitty compressors and go to off road parks with air stations so I wanted to have what would be needed it I ever needed to/wanted to use them. Honestly though after installing the Thor's compressor in the back of my Jeep I don't think I'll ever use anything else. It's been one of my favorite items I've added. Very convenient.
The wire and connections were extremely well done and the Anderson plug was beyond easy to attach. I used the JL kit in my JKUR because I wanted the compressor in the passenger rear corner and wanted the wire run through the driver's side firewall across the hump, and to the back passenger corner with a little extra. That worked perfectly. Just note the negative cable for the JL is only and 6.5ft long. That's because the JK had a grounding post under the rear seat. For the JK I ran it down the rear fender passthrough and attached it to the frame. It actually worked out better than I expected doing that and it was nice not taking the negative back to the battery. I was very pleased with how it turned out.
I had another kit with all the same things but it was in a larger flat plastic case that took up more room than I liked. Thor's gave me all the same equipment but in a smaller package that was able to hang on my tailgate table that has a molle panel. Very pleased.
Cover is nice but a little cumbersome to install but could be due to the way my compressor is mounted. I made my own bracket to install the compressor on the passenger side above the factory subwoofer and have to fiddle with it a little to slide it over the compressor but it does work and makes it a little more inconspicuous through the back window.
Works as they should, will make filling my board so much easier.
I thought it worked great. I was able to track it and it was even delivered on a Sunday at the estimated delivery time.
I purchased this JK Quick disconnect kit to use on the passenger side of my JL as I made my own mounting bracket to mount my compressor over the subwoofer in the rear of my Jeep. EI was able to run the wire through a factory grommet in the rear fender well and along the frame up to the battery. Completely satisfied with all of the products I have purchased from Thor’s.
Ramey with north idaho jeep said this was the way to go and he was right!
Finally got around to using it today. Exercised both deflating and inflating all 4 tires. Extremely happy with the performance. While all 4 tires did equalize they all measured 1.5 psi high, not a big deal just good to know.
Good quality and good service
First up was Fins and Things. Deflating was easy from 37psi to19psi. After driving my 2020 Jeep Gladiator on the trail we pulled over and set up for inflating all four tires for street driving. Seemed pretty easy and the air compressor was humming and stopping to check the pressure. My roommate asked me if her tires were looking OK and when I looked they were both flat. I panicked until I remembered that Angie might be able to help me. I called and left a voice mail. She called back quickly and after calming me down she explained what I needed to do to do and soon all four tires showed 40psi. Whew! Since then, including the Hell’s Revenge trail this system has been flawless and quick. Getting the 81 year old pilot error out of the way thanks to the superb customer service from Angie has made this one of my best additions to my “Orange Crush”!
This thing is amazing. With the quad hose kit and this compressor I can air down and air back up in around 6.5 minutes on all four. The one thing I have noticed the manifold on the hose kit seems more accurate than the pressure on the compressor. That doesn’t bother me, everything else and the customer service is great so for me that makes up in small defects. Totally recommend this set.

My take so far is the compressor is a win! I used it to top off 22.5" motorhome tires yesterday. It took a little longer than I expected to go from 105PSI to 110PSI but not excessive. This will save room and weight in the motorhome over a pancake compressor. I may try and find space to mount an air reservoir and the compressor semi permanently. Too bad your mounting options are as expensive as the compressor.
