Compressor Manual

Quick Start

  1. Connect the air hose to the compressor using the quick-connect fitting.
  2. Connect the Thor’s Lightning Dynamo chuck to the valve stem.
  3. Connect the power clamps to the vehicle battery and start the engine.
  4. Set desired pressure using the “+” or “–” buttons, then wait for the display to stop blinking.
  5. Press the power button to begin inflation. The compressor will stop automatically at the preset pressure.
Manual Mode: For small-volume items like bicycle tires, motorcycle tires, rafts, paddleboards, air mattresses, or other inflatables, use manual mode and monitor pressure closely.

Operating Modes

TotalControl™ Mode
Best for vehicle tires. Set your desired PSI, press power, and the compressor automatically stops when the preset pressure is reached.
Manual Mode
Best for small items and fast-fill situations. Press power to start inflation and press power again to stop. Always monitor closely to avoid overinflation.
Normal Pausing
The compressor may stop briefly for 1–2 seconds, 2–4 times during inflation. This is normal pressure calibration.

Standard Hammer Manifold

Manual Manifold

Standard Hammer Manifold

Important: The Standard Hammer Manifold is fully manual. It does not have preset PSI, automatic shutoff, or electronic inflation/deflation control.

To Inflate
  1. Unpack hoses and orient the manifold so it is accessible for your air source.
  2. Connect the hose sections to the manifold using the quick-connect couplers.
  3. Make sure the valve is closed before connecting to the tires.
  4. Connect the tire chucks to the valve stems and make sure there are no kinks in the hoses.
  5. Connect the manifold to your air source.
  6. Open the manifold valve before turning on your air source.
  7. Turn on your air source and inflate the tires.
  8. Turn off the air source to check pressure with your gauge.
  9. Repeat as needed until desired tire pressure is reached.
  10. Leave the system connected for 10–15 seconds with the valve closed to help equalize pressure across all connected tires.
To Deflate
  1. Unpack hoses and orient the manifold so it is accessible.
  2. Connect the hose sections to the manifold using the quick-connect couplers.
  3. Make sure the valve is closed before connecting to the tires.
  4. Connect the tire chucks to the valve stems and make sure there are no kinks in the hoses.
  5. Open the manifold valve to begin deflation.
  6. Close the valve to check pressure with your gauge.
  7. Repeat as needed until desired tire pressure is reached.
  8. Leave the system connected for 10–15 seconds with the valve closed to help equalize pressure across all connected tires.
No Preset PSI: Do not look for a target pressure setting on the Standard Hammer Manifold. You control inflation and deflation manually by opening/closing the valve and checking pressure with a gauge.
Important: Open the manifold valve before running your air source. Failure to open the valve may cause back pressure and may damage your compressor.

TotalControl Hammer Manifold

Preset PSI Manifold

TotalControl Hammer Manifold

Important: The TotalControl Hammer Manifold is the electronic manifold with preset PSI inflation/deflation. This is separate from the Standard Hammer Manifold shown in the video above.

To Inflate
  1. Unpack hoses and orient the manifold so it is accessible for your air source.
  2. Connect the controller to an air source, such as an air compressor or air tank.
  3. Connect the controller to the tires using the air hoses.
  4. Press the power button to turn the controller on.
  5. Set the desired PSI using the “+” or “–” buttons.
  6. Open the manual valve and turn on the air source to begin inflation.
  7. The process may pause 2–4 times for pressure calibration.
  8. When desired pressure is reached, the controller will close the internal electronic valve and beep.
  9. Turn off the air source.
  10. Disconnect hoses from the tires, then disconnect the air source and turn off the controller.
To Deflate
  1. Connect the controller to the tires using the air hoses without connecting an air source.
  2. Press the power button to turn the controller on.
  3. Set the desired PSI using the “+” or “–” buttons.
  4. Open the manual valve to begin deflation.
  5. The controller may pause a few times for pressure calibration.
  6. When desired pressure is reached, the controller will close the internal electronic valve and beep.
  7. Close the manual valve and disconnect the hoses from the tires.
After target pressure is reached, the electronic valve may remain closed for 120 seconds and beep. Disconnect hoses and air source within this time.

Thor's Lightning Portable 12v Air Compressor Cover

W
WILLIAM STORY
Nice cover

Cover is nice but a little cumbersome to install but could be due to the way my compressor is mounted. I made my own bracket to install the compressor on the passenger side above the factory subwoofer and have to fiddle with it a little to slide it over the compressor but it does work and makes it a little more inconspicuous through the back window.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Thor's Lightning Portable 12v Air Compressor Cover. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that you find the cover nice.

We understand that installation can be a bit cumbersome, especially if your compressor is mounted in a unique way. We're happy to hear that you were able to make your own bracket to make it work, and we hope that the cover still serves its purpose of making the compressor less noticeable through the back window.

Thank you for choosing our product and for your support. If you ever need any assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Best,
Nicole

Warranty parts

They had sent a warranty replacement hose because one of the ones I had the fitting blew off. I appreciate the new one and the great customer service however the new hose is a different shade of red and that's partially why I went with your system because it matches my color scheme. Now it looks funny when airing up and down I know it's just cosmetic but it does bother me especially when taking social media pics to promote you guys
